About Megan
Hello, I’m Megan Sharma, an author and writing professional who cannot and will not put that book down until I am good and ready. #Bookworm #AmReading
I’m a story weaver, people lover, organized go-getter, and creative chameleon. My left and right brain get along just fine. Thanks in large part to my Journalism degree from Seattle Pacific University, my curiosity never fizzles, and I have mastered the ability to write from every angle.
Originally from Seattle, Washington, I moved to Central Illinois with my family in 2015. I spent 16 years soaking up the fast-paced, entrepreneurial spirit of the West Coast, working in marketing and communications roles for ever-evolving technology firms.
In my most recent role, I managed company-wide communications for the Global Delivery Management team at Avanade; an Accenture-majority owned business focused on Microsoft consulting, technology and managed services.
Building on my years of corporate communications experience, I now offer a FREE e-book: "100 of Your Toughest Business Emails: Solved". Print it and stow it safely in your desk for when you don't know what to write in that awkward professional email. The paperback edition is available for purchase on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

Fun fact: In the early days of my career, I worked on a political campaign for U.S. Senate and for the world’s largest philanthropic organization.
What ties it all together is my passion for writing and for telling stories that connect people.
I began writing Memoirs of a Surgeon's Wife: I'm Throwing Your Damn Pager into the Ocean in October 2013, while my husband was near the finish line of his grueling six-year surgical residency program. Arun and I met in December 2008, barely a few months into his residency. At the time, I had no personal connection to the field of medicine and had no idea what an otolaryngologist was. I quickly learned the hazards of dating a doctor: a wildly unpredictable schedule, constant pager interruptions, little to no free time, and an incessant pile of dirty scrubs occupying precious real estate on the bathroom floor.
Alas, a soul mate is a soul mate, and we learned to navigate both Arun’s surgical training and our relationship as Arun transformed from date, to boyfriend, to fiancé, to husband, and to father of our beautiful children. I was by his side nearly every day of his seven years of post-medical school training.
All the juicy details are in my book, Memoirs of a Surgeon's Wife, which is now available in digital and paperback formats on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
When I’m not writing (a rare occurrence), I relish globetrotting with loved ones, cooking and eating delicious food, tackling my latest Pinterest project, photography, and Zumba.
If I had to choose one issue to which I would dedicate my life, it would be gender equality (high fives to my feminist brothers and sisters out there!).
I'm constantly reading, learning and looking to stretch myself. I'm open to new opportunities as an author or writing professional, so feel free to reach out to me. Cheers!
